Santolina / Lavender Cotton

8/7/09, little nothing mounds under the Helenium

This lavender cotton has not done much for me, although it is starting to fill out now in its third year.  I have three tiny clumps planted right under the maple in Meadow's Edge.  The foliage is a nice upright hazy spiky mound.  The flowers, which I have never seen, are supposed to be bright yellow buttons.

Clip to 1 foot in spring to look neat, and pinch growing tips throughout season for bushiness.

2012 - these never looked good, did not spread or fill out, and never bloomed. I took them out finally.

They are now ex-plants.
