The hybrid coreopsis cultivars that I planted over the years all failed. They are not hardy, and what does live is short lived.
But a species coreopsis that came in a wildflower seed packet is robust, deep yellow and tall in the middle back of the Birch Garden, although it can be a little weedy. There isn't much left of that now though, just the occasional plant that pops up.

I did buy another coreopsis hybrid, this time a pale orange one called 'Sweet Marmalade'. It was subtle, but I liked it. I put a clump along the front edge of the driveway garden.

In 2015, to fill an empty spot at the front of the Birch garden, I added a hybrid coreopsis 'Jethro Tulle'. I put several of these low yellow bloomers to counteract all the purple that was dominating the garden in summer.

6/13/16 'Jethro Tulle' looking orangey, but it's really golden yellow. |
