Prunus x cistena / Purpleleaf Sandcherry

Planted spring 2011, from Bosco's. They need a lot of pruning to stay denser and nicely formed.

I put it at the back of the rear garden. Hidden at the back, I don't think I'll need to prune as much; it can get tall and leggy and still be ok. Rabbits pruned it severely the first year, but it came back.

6/20/14 - after the initial red flush in spring, leaves are dark purple
