(Update - 2012 I took this out. It was too rampant and large for this space, and I had no where else for a big climbing vine.)
This is Humulus lupulus 'Aurea', a golden leaved hops vine. I got a small one from LazyS, but it struggled and almost disappeared. I replaced it with a large specimen from Warner's.
It dies back to the ground each winter and then comes back fully in one season.

I have it planted where the clematis was last year, against the east side of the garage. It needs some shade to keep from scorching the leaves in the summer.
It grew beautifully but got to large for the flimsy trellis, as I knew it would! I need to get something much larger for it to grow on next year.
