Pieris japonica / Andromeda

Planted 'Bisbee's Dwarf' in spring 2010 under the bedroom window. I got it from Broken Arrow Nursery. It is a small 2 foot round mound and it will stay little. Evergreen. Its flowers are not very noticeable in May.

Planted 'Valley Valentine' in 2016 also under the bedroom window. This andormeda will get much larger. It has showy pink flowers in April.

The 'Valley Valentine' Pieris flowers are bright pink.

5/15/13 - the rust colored flowers are not very showy

The new growth on the dwarf andromeda is reddish.

'Bisbee's Dwarf' pieris is nice enough in a complex planting but not much on its own. Flowers are not noticeable, but the red tipped new foliage in spring is nice. The plant fades into the background after that, though.

'Valley Valentine' should have much more presence all year.

8/27/16 'Valley Valentine just planted.
It's still yellowish from being in its pot, will green up in subsequent years.
