Planted three Lo & Behold 'Blue Chip' dwarf butterfly bushes at the front of the Birch Garden in 2013. Blooms are purple.
All three grew very differently. The one in the middle front came in nicely, and was full and low. The ones on either side were a lot smaller (see the red circled plants below).

They all got the same amount of sun and the conditions were identical, but only the middle one looked like anything by autumn.

While 'Blue Chip' is nice enough, this dwarf butterfly bush is really just a filler in the front of the garden. It doesn't have the arching presence of regular butterfly bushes.
