Galanthus / Snowdrop

Galanthus
Last Snow Mix

Planted in fall 2010.  These are from Whiteflower Farm, a mix of species and varieties to extend the season.

The idea is for them to grow up through the glossy green kinnikinnik leaves in early spring. They are planted around the base of the weeping Japanese maple in the front garden.

I still can't figure out how to get good pictures of these tiny things. Close ups are the best.

They are spreading a little.

This area is south facing and warm between the brick wall and sidewalk, and it's in a protected corner so it should be a good spot for snowdrops to take over.

Little and cute, always fun to see in early April. They look nice with the tiny purple iris reticulata flowers that pop up here and there in this area. I wish the snowdrops would spread and start to fill out more.
